Norton V4-SS recalled over severe safety issues

Norton Motorcycles UK Limited (NMUL) has recalled its V4-SS over severe safety issues. The British brand has identified defects and safety issues on the V4-SS bikes sold in 2019 and early 2020. The liquidator of the company, Binder Dijker Otte (BDO) has sent a letter to the respective bike owners to file a claim for their loss.
The current list denotes a total of thirty-five defects including oil hose failure and battery issue. Twenty defects are considered to be safety-critical and are likely to be referred to the DVSA. Further, ten requires a check, which might reveal further defects. Meanwhile, the final five are service items that will be completed once the bike is being repaired.
These defects were identified during the V4-SS test and evaluation programme which is yet not completed. So there are chances to come across a few more defects before its completion. The company says that it will continue to support its customers and liquidators in the process of identifying issues and seeking solutions.
However, as of now, the respective bike owners are recommended to stop rides and remove their batteries as per the instructions provided. The company says that it will notify the progress of the same in June.
